Lanternfall: villagers who remember you
A roguelike where every villager remembers what you did last run — and tells everyone else.
How the AI credit will be used
Generate in-character dialogue for 40 villagers during playtests, and summarise gossip between them after each in-game night. Roughly 60% on live villager dialogue in playtests (Claude Sonnet 5), about 25% on nightly gossip summaries (Claude Haiku 4.5), and about 15% on writing tools for my own drafts (either provider).
The idea
In most roguelikes the world forgets you when you die. In Lanternfall, the villagers don't. The baker remembers you stole bread two runs ago. The mayor heard about it from the baker.
Where the AI comes in
I write every character's personality and history by hand. The model turns that, plus a log of what you did, into dialogue that fits — and summarises gossip between villagers overnight.
What your pledge buys
Credit for a full year of playtesting builds, where every conversation is generated live, and for running the gossip pass on every save file testers send me.

Pledges become AI credit for the creator if the goal is met — never paid out as cash.
Solo developer behind Lanternfall, a small roguelike about a lighthouse keeper. I write too much dialogue.
